THERMAL PERFORMANCE

Tesla Walls regularly engages independent engineering firms to corroborate analyses conducted by Tesla Walls in house engineering staff theoretically analyze the thermal performance of Tesla Walls products as well as to engage testing firms to corroborate the thermal analyses with actual tests on the wall system.

Thermal Analysis:
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) thermal simulation was conducted on the Tesla Walls curtain wall and window wall. THERM 5.2, WINDOW 5.2 and OPTICS 5.1 was used for all FEA procedures.

Analyses conducted were:

1. Total window U-factor  with NFRC boundary
conditions.

2. Dew point analysis  with ASHRAE design
temperatures for NYC.
RESULTS: see Recent Results

  • ALL POINTS OF THE WALL SYSTEM EFFECTIVELY INSULATED THE INTERIORS FROM EXTERIOR TEMPERATURE EXTREMES.

  • ACTUAL TEST RESULTS SURPASSED THEORETICAL TESTS AS THE WALL SYSTEM WAS TESTED IN 3 CONFIGURATIONS OVER A PERIOD OF A YEAR.

  • SUPERIOR RESULTS ACHIEVED. 5-8 DEG F ABOVE ALLOWABLE.

  • THIS MEANS LOWER HEATING BILLS IN WINTER AND ENERGY SAVINGS IN SUMMERTIME.

  • A TRULY EXCELLENT THERMALLY PERFORMING CURTAIN WALL AND WINDOW WALL SYSTEMS.
